What we believe

The gospel we stand on.

About God+

We believe that there is only one true God who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. He is the creator, sustainer, and controller of all things and can be known personally through Jesus Christ.

About Jesus Christ+

We hold that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, sinless, and perfect. We believe that He not only taught the truth and demonstrated the power of God in miracles, but also died on a cross as a payment for man’s sins, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sent the Holy Spirit to guide the Church.

About Holy Spirit+

We believe that, by the grace of God, the Holy Spirit — the third Person of the Godhead — dwells in every born-again believer. He provides the Christ follower with a growing understanding of biblical truth, daily guidance, and the power to become Christ-like. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and all of the Gifts of The Spirit are for the Church today, equipping and empowering believers to effectively strengthen the Church and to reach and minister to a lost world.

About the Bible+

We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for all Christians. We hold that the Scriptures, along with the power of the Spirit, are God’s main means of guiding and strengthening the believer.

About Mankind+

We believe that mankind was created by God in His image, to be like Him in character and with Him in relationship. A relationship barrier was erected when man chose to sin by rebelling against God’s ways. This rebellion caused mankind’s spiritual death and resulted in the complete separation and alienation from God. We believe that man in his fallen state is a sinner, lost, undone, without hope, and in need of a savior.

About Salvation+

We believe Salvation is God’s free gift to us, entirely by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works or human effort. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. We understand that any person can become a new person in Jesus Christ with the forgiveness of sins, the removal of guilt, and the inward change of the heart, by believing in Jesus Christ.

About Eternity+

We believe people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

I'm new

Come as you are.

Walking into a new church takes courage. You will not be put on the spot. Sunday is worship, a message from Scripture, and people who mean it when they say welcome home.

Sundays · 10:00 AM · 1A S. Colville St., Walla Walla, WA 99362

What should I expect?

A Sunday with worship, a message from Scripture, and people who mean it when they say welcome home. Come a few minutes early — someone will help you get settled.

What should I wear?

Come as you are. You’ll see jeans and dresses, coffee cups and Bibles. There is no dress code.

Will I be singled out?

No. You won’t be asked to stand, raise a hand, or introduce yourself to the room. If you want to talk, we’ll be glad. If you want to sit quietly, that’s welcome too.

What about kids?

We have Kids’ Club during the Sunday gathering — a place for children to learn and belong while you worship. If you’d rather keep them with you in the service, they’re welcome there too.

DTR is a casual meal. We listen to your story and share the heart and vision of the Refuge. No program to sit through — just a table.

Shadows in the House: Deception

Shadows in the House · August 23, 2026

See all messages

Deception is one of the most dangerous threats to your faith — and it rarely looks the way you expect. It comes through quiet doubts, half-truths, and lies that slowly become how you see yourself.

Groups

Real connection happens in groups.

Groups are where you find friends who really get to know you, where you grow, and where you step into the mission of Jesus.

Give

Worship through generosity.

Giving is one way we say yes to what God is doing at the Refuge. You can give to the general fund, or continue a building commitment already made.
